“What’s your slice?”

We are happy to announce the theme for our first zine issue! Our theme is called “What’s your slice?” This first zine issue will focus on the past and present histories of Filipinx-Canadian youth in the diaspora. We want to highlight lived experiences of Filipinx-Canadian youth and emphasize the importance of identifying who you are and where you come from. Learning one’s roots can pave the way for an enriched understanding of the present and future.

For this issue, we are accepting submissions from Filipinx-Canadian youth (ages 16-25) based in anywhere in so-called Canada. Submissions can include personal essays, short stories, poetry, visual art, and more! Submit as many pieces as you like for this issue and any future issues. Submissions that do not fit the theme for this issue may be kept for future zines with the permission of the creator. If you have any questions regarding submissions please contact our zine coordinators, Kaitlin and Helena, through slicedmangocollective@gmail.com.

Submit your work here!

We are also looking to add members into our zine team!

Are you a Fil-Can youth interested in creative writing or visual art? Find out more about the open positions and submit your application here!
